Within the City of London a forum exists that encourages cooperation in developing crime prevention measures between the City of London Corporation, the City of London Police and the business community. A major contributor to this forum is the City of London Crime Prevention Association.
The aim of the CoL CPA is to prevent and deter crime in the financial and commercial sector within the City of London.
Knowing the risks, understanding what can be done to tackle the risks and providing members with a network of like-minded professionals is the thrust behind our Association.
With approximately 300 members, the Association is unique in the UK. It offers a varied and interesting programme of events, as well as providing regular updates on crime prevention-related information and advice. The members of the Association are integral to this process and their continuing support is vital to the Association's success.
Although the Association is an independent organisation, it benefits from essential guidance and support from the City of London Police and the City of London Corporation. Such is the importance attached to the continuation and development of the Association that personal encouragement has been given by the Home Office, the Chairman of the Police Committee and the Commissioner of the City of London Police.
In seeking to be more efficient in achieving its objectives, the Association has become a registered charity (Reg. Charity No. 1068671).
Benefits include:
- Specific and focused meetings
- Charitable status
- A strong and active networking membership
- Financial opportunity to support appropriate crime prevention and charitable initiatives
